This will enable you to know how the company plans to expand in the future. If the company grows you will have ample opportunities to grow with it.

An important part of working in any company is knowing its culture. If you get to know what the company stands for and how it treats its employees, you will be able to no weather you will enjoy working with this company.

3. Will training be provided?

You will need training /induction to settle down comfortably and understand your job responsibilities. Hence you need to know how and when the training will be provided to you.

4. Are there any opportunities for professional development? If yes, then what do those look like?

Nobody likes to work you know company or job role which offers little scope for growth. Therefore, at the interview stage itself, you can ask what the career path of the employee will look like, to understand whether you will grow fast or remain stagnant.

5. What will be my responsibilities at this job?

Ask this question and understand the job responsibilities well before joining the job or you may be in for a rude surprise later.

6. What are the challenges that I will be facing in my job?

Along with the job responsibilities you also need to know the typical challenges and obstacles that have been faced by those who have worked in this profile before. This will enable you to judge whether you will be able to cope up with the challenges work properly.

7. What will be my revenue/performance targets if applicable?

If you know the targets that the company will expect you to meet, at least in the initial months, you will be able to understand whether those are achievable by you or not. Many candidates do not ask this question and end up joining jobs which provide them with targets which are too steep for their comfort. The result of such a situation is never good.

8. What is the hierarchy of the organization & where will I stand?

Knowing who your reporting boss will be will give you an idea of where in the corporate hierarchy you will be placed.

9. When and how will I become eligible for a promotion?

If you know the performance standards that you will have to meet to be eligible for a promotion, you can start work for it strategically right after joining the organisation.

10. When will you get back to me / what are the steps left in the interview process?

This will enable you to know how soon you can expect a response from the company. It will also show the interviewer that you are eager and serious about completing the selection process. Asking some of these smart questions will impress your prospective employer who will feel that you are highly interested in the position and have prepared well.
